Elders

This initiative was introduced in the first week of November, 2007. An Aboriginal Elder is invited to the Aboriginal Cultural Centre and Keeping Place once a week to be on site. The purpose of this new development is to give the Armidale elders an opportunity to be involved in the day-to-day operation of the Centre. Their role is to ensure that all the activities run at the Centre are culturally appropriate, taking all cultural sensitivity into consideration. They also meet and greet visitors and chat with staff members.

This will also give staff members the opportunity to call upon an elder to help or advice them in regards to reaching their highest potential at work.
