Holiday Program

 2007

 

The Aboriginal Cultural Centre and Keeping Place (ACCKP) and other agencies work together in partnership to provide social and community activities in the ACCKP objectives (listed in the Constitution).

 

An example of such a collaboration is the Holiday Cultural Activities Program which is funded by the Department of Community Services (DoCS). The program caters for Aboriginal children from Kindergarten to Year 6. There is no charge for children attending any or all of the activities. A theme is set for each holiday and the program is then designed to reflect the theme. Children are given opportunities to learn, practise and develop a particular skill in line with their culture.
