Lines of Belonging
This collection of works was exhibited from August 4 to October 31 2025.
Nathan Dawson is a Gomeroi Artist with roots in the Gunnedah area. This exhibition brings together a collection of both newer and older works by Nathan Dawson. While Nathan hasn’t lived in the Gunnedah area, his cultural connection to that place and community continues to inform and shape his art.
At the heart of this body of work is an ongoing exploration of people — their expressions, their stories, and their emotional worlds. Nathan’s paintings often focus on the human face and form, using bold lines, layered textures, and carefully considered colour compositions to evoke mood, memory, and movement.
This exhibit isn’t about a single theme — it’s about growth, reflection, and the ongoing conversation between past and present works. It invites you to sit with the faces, shapes, and stories that have emerged over time, and to experience the way Nathan sees the world.
